C&F has no real sources on this, other than message boards and "Pardon the Interruption" (always a bastion of great journalism), but Ron Zook sung the daily rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" at Wrigley Field Saturday and, um, had to read the words as he went along.

Which is bad enough, but probably not worthy of a mention without a source.

Except that it's apparently the second time Zook has been asked to perform the song. (HT: EDSBS)

How's that go again?

Now, C&F is well aware that the complex and intricate lyrics of this musical masterpiece can be bewildering to those who did not grow up watching Harry Caray sing the tune with his ... unique ... style. These were some of C&F's formative experiences.

But you would think that, having had to sing it once, Zook could at least, y'know, remember the lyrics.

Once you start to say that, though, you realize that we're talking about Ron Zook.
