BOWL PREVIEW: San Diego County Credit Union Poinsetia Bowl

What's five days away and looks like a college football game? The Poinsettia Bowl!

Actually, that's the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl to you. Everyone who's going to the game that's not actually a fan of one of the two teams must pay an $2 fee, in addition to any fees your own team might charge you.

When: Tuesday, Dec. 19, 8 p.m.
Purported reason for existence: No one really knows.
Real reason for existence: To show that nothing is too boring to have a bowl named after it.
Interest level: Current SNL. Yeah, it's bearable. If nothing else is on.
Web site: Do not go to, as this will lead you to the site I kid you not.
Teams: TCU Horned Frogs vs. Northern Illinois Huskies.
Key Player For TCU: LaDanian Tomlinson. If he were playing. Which he's not.

Could win game for TCU. If he played.

Otherwise, it's QB Jeff Ballard, who has run for more than 400 yards and passed for more than 2100.

Key Player For NIU: It's Garrett Wolfe, who rushed for 8,000 yards and 37 touchdowns in his first six games this season. Or something like that.

Fastest guy this side of Steve Slaton.

Winner: TCU. If you're going to take a shot in the dark, you might as well go with the team you had actually heard of five years ago.
