WHAT ARE THESE 'VICTORIES' OF WHICH YOU SPEAK?
No. 1 sign that Lou Holtz ain't the coach anymore:
"I don't know if any coach has ever told our fans, 'Please don't clap after we get beat,'" Spurrier said. "Even the Clemson game (a 13-9 loss in 2005), they were clapping like, 'Well, we thought we were going to get clobbered. And we didn't get clobbered. So that's OK.'
"It's not OK. We had a game we had a chance to win ... and we didn't do it."
But do cut us some slack, Steve. Under Lou, we would have resorted to running and throwing jump balls as the Tigers continued stacking up points. So we're not quite used to how to react to almost beating a team that's, you know, better than decent.
